More Than It Seems

Every month on the 25th, there’s this small flea market on Kitano Tenmangu Shrine, Kyoto. πŸ˜€ Since my mom loves to go to markets and suchs, I decided to bring her here. And besides, Kitano Tenmangu Shrine was famous with it’s plum blossom garden and their having a plum blossom garden opening only until 25 this month. So, it’s even more reason to go there. πŸ˜€

To go to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine actually is not that hard. Just stop at subway Karasuma line’s Imadegawa Station and find a bus to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine. The shrine is one of the famous tourist spot, so the sign was obviously clear (even on the bus, it was written). So, we (ended up going the 4 of us) hopped on the bus and go to the shrine. πŸ˜€DSC_0001

Apparently, since it’s spring holiday for the students, the flea market was full of people, not only adult but also kids as well. From tourist who were chasing the glimpse of spring to locals. But it was interesting. It feels more like festival than flea market to be honest. πŸ˜€

Unfortunately, although on the picture the sky looks blue, actually during my walk there, the sky was filled with cloud and many time the rain pours which makes it so cold. My hands almost freeze due to the chill. (>_<|||) Thank God, there are vending machine selling hot drinks. Besides hot drink, I also bought chibi castella and croissant taiyaki. πŸ˜€ Currently croissant taiyaki was booming in Kansai area. πŸ˜€ It’s just changing the usual taiyaki batter into croissant sheets. πŸ˜€ Taste not bad, but I prefer the usual taiyaki. :p

During the walk, we bought few things. My mom buys spoons from wood and a hat, my dad bought snacks (well, I bought snacks as well actually :p), while for me and my big bro, we bought yukata (summer kimono). πŸ˜€ The yukata we bought were quite cheap, it’s 1,000 yen each, while the obi are 500 yen each. My brother bought 1 yukata and 1 obi, while I bought 2 yukata without obi, since I’m thinking of searching the obi at another place. We also bought geta for 900 yen each. I guess this year’s summer, we’ll dress in yukata for the festivals. Hehehe. πŸ˜€

Oh! I also meet this cute doggie on the way. πŸ˜€ I asked the owner if I can take a picture and he agrees. πŸ™‚

Overall, the flea market was so fun. You can found a lot of stuffs there. πŸ˜€ But it closed on 3~4 PM. :p So if you’re interested to go there, make sure to go on the morning.

While for the plum blossoms… Since the plum trees already bloomed and are about to witter, it’s not that good anymore. And my parents feels it won’t be worth it if we enter the garden now. Maybe next year. 😦 So we ended taking pictures of the plum blossom trees which are scattering around the shrine while taking pictures of the shrine. :/ But still, it looks beautiful. πŸ˜€

And so with that, our journey to Kitano Tenmangu Shrine to find flea market and catch a glimpse of spring ends. Well, after that we still go for a walk to Doshisha University Imadegawa campus and have a walk to Kyoto Station to looks for things. πŸ™‚

So… I guess that’s all? Have you catch a glimpse of spring? Jya~ne! πŸ˜€

Sincerely, Bena nDR
