Raw Meat

Everyone who live in and outside Japan and love Japanese food must have known about one of the famous type of food in Japan, Yakiniku. πŸ˜€ To make it simple, yakiniku is a Japanese style grilled BBQ. πŸ˜€

In Indonesia, yakiniku is also one of the famous type of Japanese food which has a lot of fans due to the opportunity of eating meat all-you-can-eat. πŸ˜€ One of the famous yakiniku chain in Indonesia is Hanamasa due to the price and the variant choice of food. πŸ˜€ Living in Japan for few years, me and Ryu always wanted to try to eat yakiniku at least once. We want to try the Japanese way of yakiniku shop. πŸ˜€ But somehow, the price usually high, so we usually think twice to go to yakiniku.

Suddenly, somehow I found a yakiniku restaurant chain in Kyoto where the price is not that high and had an English menu for foreigners. (^A^)b The name is [チフゑジャ] (Chifaja). We found out that there are a lot of chain of Chifaja in Kyoto, so we search for the one near our house, and our choice goes to the one at Shijo Street. πŸ˜€ The shop is quite big and at first we’re kinda confused how to sit and such. But the waitress was so kind to show us how. πŸ˜€

In Chifaja, there are few menus of all all-you-can-eat: Cho-Toku-Toku (2,138 yen tax incl.) where we can eat 50 kinds of meat, Cho-Manzoku (2,679 yen tax incl.) where we can eat 90 kinds of meat, and Cho-Shifuku (3,218 yen tax incl.) where we can eat 120 kinds of meat. πŸ˜€ Since this is our first time, we decided to choose the cheapest one. :p Too bad, the menu didn’t include drink. We must pay more for another all-you-can-drink beverage πŸ˜€ Additional 432 yen for non-alcohol / soft drink, additionalΒ 864 yen for standard alcohol / soft drink, and 1,296 yen for premium alcohol / soft drink. Okay,Β 50 meats, here we go!!! \(=A=)/

Apparently, different with the yakiniku in Indonesia where we took the meat by ourselves (buffet), in here, we order which kind of meat we want to eat to the waitress, and they will took it for us. πŸ˜€ And it was written better to order the meat two at a time to prevent leftovers, since we must pay for the leftovers. :p

And so… Let the grilling begun!!! πŸ˜€ Ufufufu…

And so, we ordered like.. Few time.. 7 plates if I’m not mistaken :p We tried each sauce, and overall the taste is nice. But my favorite is the salt-and-pepper one πŸ˜€ And for the ‘dessert’, I ordered a hot yuzu-honey. Taste nice. Perfect for after a meat-galore. πŸ™‚

We’re stuffed and full, and happy. And definitely will go back one more time to this place. πŸ˜‰ Ufufufu..

So, if you’re in Kyoto and craving for some affordable price yakiniku, why not try Chifaja. πŸ˜‰ I really recommend this place. πŸ˜€

I guess that’s all for now. πŸ˜€ Jya~ne! πŸ™‚

Sincerely, Bena nDR
